At Chatham University, exploring the possibilities for your future begins Year One. Co-sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Office of Career Development, Chatham Career Launch kicks off this process. During this event, you will hear from Chatham alumni and community partners about their professional journeys and begin thinking about your own pathway and future goals; learn about majors, career paths, and/or graduate programs of interest; discover opportunities available in the Greater Pittsburgh Area; and understand the importance of experiential learning and internships as a core component of your Chatham experience.
Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences Career Launch
Location: Campbell Memorial Chapel, Shadyside Campus
Required for First Year and Transfer students majoring in Arts Education; Arts Management; Communication: Graphic Design, Human Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations; Creative Writing, Criminology, Cultural Studies, English, History, Immersive Media (IMM), International Studies, Media Arts: Film and Digital Technology, Graphic Design, or Photography; Music, Music Business, Music Technology, Policy Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Social Services Administration, Social Work, Visual Arts: Art History or Studio Art, and Women’s and Gender Studies
Health Sciences & Sciences Career Launch
Location: Eddy Theatre, Shadyside Campus
Required for First Year and Transfer students majoring in BA & BS Biochemistry, BA Biology, BS Biology: Human Biology, BS Biology: Cell & Molecular Biology, BA & BS Chemistry, BS Exercise Science, BA & BS Mathematics, BS Neuroscience, and Pathways to Nursing (PTN) or Pre-Nursing and planning to pursue PTN.
Business Career Launch
Location: Mellon Board Room, Shadyside Campus
Required for First Year and Transfer Students majoring in Accounting, Applied Data Science Analytics, Economics, International Business, Management, and Marketing.
Environmental Science, Food Studies & Sustainability Career Launch
This event is incorporated into the TIME sessions at Eden Hall.
Required for First Year and Transfer students majoring in Environmental Science, Food Studies, and Sustainability.
Interior Architecture Career Launch
This event is incorporated into the Interior Architecture sessions at the Eastside Campus.
Required for First Year and Transfer students majoring in Interior Architecture.
Undeclared students who have not yet selected a major should attend the Chatham Career Launch session for the subject they are considering studying.
Pre-K-4 Education majors and those pursuing the Art K-12 Certificate or Secondary Education Certificate should also attend Chatham Career Launch session that best aligns with their subject area of interest (e.g., a History major pursuing a Secondary Education Certificate would attend the Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences session).
